01France & European Union
Check customs classification, origin, duties and the relevant operator’s EORI identification. Rice must meet applicable food safety, traceability, pesticide residue and contaminant requirements, including arsenic. Increased controls, pre-notifications and TRACES documents apply only to product/origin combinations covered by current measures. Mandatory information for the French market must be in French.
02International markets
United States: check applicable FDA requirements, including facility registration, prior notice and the importer’s FSVP responsibilities. Canada: consult CFIA/AIRS and applicable licensing and preventive controls. Great Britain: check customs, labelling and border controls or pre-notification where required. Saudi Arabia: verify SFDA requirements, import formalities and Arabic labelling. Other markets require destination checks with the importer and freight forwarder.
03Shipping & Incoterms® 2020
Sea, road or air transport is assessed by route, volume and quotation. The Incoterms® 2020 rule and named place define costs, responsibilities and risk transfer. FCA, FOB, CFR, CIF or DAP can be assessed according to transport mode and route; FOB, CFR and CIF apply only to sea or inland waterway transport. Lead times depend on preparation, bookings and customs controls.
04Documentation & customs
The file may include a commercial invoice, packing list, transport document, proof of origin and, where required, health, phytosanitary, analysis or authenticity certificates. Customs classification depends on the rice and processing. Basmati has no universal duty exemption: the special husked basmati regime is limited to eligible varieties, codes and documents. Duties and taxes are checked when quoting.
05Packaging & storage
Formats, materials, labelling, palletisation, minimum orders and private label are confirmed per product. Woven PP sacks, pouches, PET jars and jute sacks vary by selection. Container loading and weight are determined by the freight forwarder using the packing plan. Store in a clean, dry place protected from moisture, pests and odours. Shelf life is stated on the batch.
06Quality & traceability
Define variety, processing, tolerances and required documentation before ordering. Request analyses and documents relevant to the batch and country. A manufacturer’s certifications do not certify IMS CORP or ZERIKO. Samples, third-party inspection and additional analyses are assessed on request.
07Cocoa & cashew — Côte d’Ivoire
For cocoa destined for the EU, verify EUDR scope and duties (traceability, legality and due diligence). Under the current official timetable: application from 30 December 2026 for large and medium operators, and 30 June 2027 for covered micro and small operators. For cashews, check allergens, contaminants, analyses and labelling by product and destination. Grades, processing and packaging are defined in the quotation.
